By design our improved pole barn kits are a pre-engineered post frame structures. Our posts and beams are nail laminated from dimensional lumber and no wood is put in the ground. Our Pole Barn kits are also pre-fabricated in a shop, drastically reducing on-site costs.

Column to Foundation

Our improved Pole Barn Kits are securely fastened to the foundation using Anchor shoes. We attach a pressure treated plate to the bottom of every column to prevent contact between the wood column and the foundation. Our buildings can be put on any type of foundation.

Column to Beam

This connection is the most critical in a building because it is what keeps the roof attached to the walls. Our improved pole barn kits use a patented “knee brace” in this location to create the strongest connection in the industry. This “knee brace” can also be made from wood.

Collar Tie and Peak Gusset

The “Collar Tie” is an essential element of our improved pole barn kit design. This component allows our pole barn kits to eliminate the conventional trusses used in most buildings giving you more space for lofts or the ability to lower the walls for a better appearance. This also makes it possible to install overhead doors in the endwall of a building that are higher than the sidewall. This part can also be made from wood.

Insulation

Because of the standard two foot spacing of Girts and Purlins, insulation can be easily installed. R-30 in the roof and R-19 in the walls.

Truss

Our stacked cord eliminates the need for conventional trusses giving our improved pole barn kits a natural vaulted ceiling, while maintaining the strength to span 80ft with no interior supports. The natural vault also eliminates the “bird nest” appearance of conventional trusses. Roof purlins are typically 2×8’s 24” on center giving a ready to insulate R-value of 30.
