Custom homes from our improved pole barn kits are not only strong but impressive as well. Our buildings are built better than most standard stick frame homes. Unlike most homes, our improved pole barn kits deliver a home with a natural total vaulted ceiling giving the openness only found in many homes costing hundreds of thousands of dollars more.  

The pre-fabricated post-frame building kits delivered in our pole barn kits, are ideal for building homes, especially for building it yourself, or hiring your own builder to put it together.  All of the components and pieces are assembled or pre-cut to size on an assembly line in the factory,  so it’s real hard to put anything in the wrong place.  Compared to using the pre-fabbed kit, there will be a few things missing if a comparable building is stick-framed:  Like having workers measuring and cutting each piece one at a time on saw-horses, or paying the high cost of conventional trusses, or footing the bill for the extra travel  time it often takes to build a stick-framer from scratch.

The steel knee braces and collar ties used in our other buildings can usually be modified or even eliminated in a house, by using walls for weight-bearing support.  We highly recommend using plywood or OSB on the roof and walls, under the roofing and siding.  You’ll typically see this being done on conventionally built houses,but there it’s necessary just to hold the building together, with ours it is totally your choice. 

With these pre-fabricated pole barn kits, the frame alone is strong enough for the building, but the added wood  on the roof will eliminate some flexing  in a wind storm – flexing that is acceptable in a barn or shop, but not in a house.  Installing walls, doors & windows, kitchen accessories, etc. is just as easy in these buildings as in a stick-framed house. Try installing your own windows on a metal building or over framing a standard pole barn to accept windows.
